"This has nothing to do with Indo-Pak cricket relations. This is between IPL and us. They have made a mistake, whether purposefully we don't know. But I strongly feel it was a wrong decision on their part not to consider any of our boys," he said.
It may be noted that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already revoked all the NoCs issued to Pakistani players for their participation in IPL's third edition. This means that no Pakistani player will be able to play in IPL this year even if any Indian team seeks their inclusion at a later stage. When asked about it, he said, "The responsibility is solely with IPL and Lalit Modi."
The PCB chief questioned Lalit Modi's "motive" behind the controversy. "Why he (Modi) did this we don't understand. I don't think anybody in India or Pakistan understands this. I spoke to Modi in London during the T20 World Cup who explained the reasons why the Pakistani boys were not considered in the IPL-2 played at South Africa last year". He said Lalit Modi assured him that Pak players would appear in third edition of IPL.
